Sanjaya Marambe was enrolled as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 2018. He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London and advises the Chambers on contentious matters that call for sustained litigation work.
His practice covers civil, criminal, and commercial litigation alongside fundamental rights and public interest work, and he has appeared as part of legal panels before the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Commercial High Court, including in intellectual property and writ proceedings.
Within the Bar Association of Sri Lanka he has served as Convener of the Legal Aid Committee — establishing an Anti-Torture Unit and organising island-wide legal aid seminars — and currently convenes its Junior Bar and Special Projects Standing Committees and co-convenes the Police and Prison Relations Committee. He was appointed to the national One Country One Law Task Force in 2021 and has lectured on personality, leadership, and ethics at the Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya.
Outside the Bar, he is the founder of Youth for Democracy & Justice, a registered organisation promoting democracy, justice, and community welfare, and serves as Headquarters Commissioner (Legal) of the Sri Lanka Scout Association.
