II · Biography
In their own register.
Tirasha Fernando advises the Chambers as a Consultant. She is an Attorney-at-Law, a Notary Public, a Company Secretary and a Registered IP Agent, and holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of London.
In her own practice she advises on commercial and corporate matters: drafting and reviewing employment, sponsorship, distribution and service agreements, filing trademark applications, and providing company secretarial services from incorporation through shareholder resolutions and compliance filings.
Earlier in her career she worked in Australian practice as a Legal Manager, advising on commercial, property and estate matters and drafting franchise, shareholder, sale and purchase, and lease agreements, along with website terms and privacy policies. That role also covered residential property transactions, wills, powers of attorney, probate applications and family law documents. Before that she handled residential conveyancing in the United Kingdom.
In Sri Lanka her work has covered intellectual property, sports law and commercial matters, and she trained with several of Colombo's long-established commercial firms.
That range gives the Chambers a comparative perspective on drafting, particularly where a transaction or an estate has a foreign element.
